The World of Rayllom

This is the plot of Forbidden. Yase. Drawn by the lovely and awesomely talented Emilee during studio.

This page contains information about my characters and world that i have developed and will be added to when developments have been made. And also when i feel like scanning my world book. It will kind of function like a blog. If the terminology confuses you, please use the glossary. There are also reference sheets and images in the Gallery.

Rayllomian Glossary

Tlaloc and Tercel are the legendary twins born of Sabbar to one of the fiercest female warriors to exist in Rayllom. Of the ancient Dar'kar tribe which once spanned almost the entire inhabitable regions of rayllom's most diverse continent, Pllactathon, the twin's mother was nothing short of tough. In a climate that ranged from below freezing in winter and raging hot in the summer the Dar'kar had to learn to overcome in order to survive the test of the land. Females were notably the warriors, and wore exquisite golden-colored armor crafted by the men of Dar'kar tribes out of some of the strongest metal found only in some of the most northern regions of Pllactathon. Dar'kar have two uniquely colored skin types, and their ferals generally always manifest themselves into two things. Lighter skinned dar'kar have dark brown to black hair, and eyes that are colored from coal to caramel. Their ferals are feline in nature, and this coloration mostly befalls upon men. Darker skinned DAr'kar are blessed with beautiful blonde to white hair, sometimes red in rare cases. These dark skinned dar'kar are complemented by beautiful light eyes and this complexion is usually found among the women of the tribe and their ferals are commonly avian. However, when dar'kar marry outside of their closely nit family groups with dar'kar in different tribes or from a completely different rayllomian species (such as a zaire), the different genes interact and can cause more unique complexions. This is the case with Sabbar's twin boys; Tlaloc, born under the sign of lightning has the complexion of a lighter skinned Dar'kar, yet Tercel, of air, is blessed with what is usually considered the female dark skinned version of dar'kar coloration.

Dar'kar believe highly in the existence of duality in nature and the gods. Zealtella and Faveen are worshipped equally unlike in other societies where one is preferred over the other. DAr'kar choose to mark their people in multiple ways. As if the distinct coloration and slender faces with hook noses aren't distinct enough, Dar'kar tattoo their people upon coming of age. One band is given around both wrists and ankles and neck upon becoming an adult, and the second band is attained by killing an enemy of equal strength on the battle field, an enemy from a rival tribe. It is tradtion also that males shave a patch of hair from just above their ears once they attain their feral manifestation. It used to be claimed that all dar'kar were born with ears that ended with square tips, but it has been found out that ears are cropped at birth, and the tips tattooed when one's profession is chosen. Female dar'kar wear their hair traditionally long and in braids, and some choose to shave the feral marks in their hair as well.

Tlaloc and eErcel were once considered by their people to be the gods of prophecy sent to them by the heavens to bring about the storms during drought. Tlaloc with his power to bring lightning to strike his enemies and the gorund, anthing he choose form seemingly nowhere and tercel who could fly in his normal form and knock you over without any seen force were highly respected. But their odd stature (dar'kar are some of the smallest people in rayllom) and impure mother (prophecy called for a virgin birth) soon lead the people of DAr'kar to discover the truth about the storm bringers, not to mention their ability to bring about actual rain. They were shunned from their lands and came to stay among their others brothers at the Sanrix. (3/4)

Updates are being made for the designs of riders. So far the standard Sanrix gear for commonplace riders has been designed along, with the winter versions. A reference for the standard outfit can be seen on Jaquin. The design was inspired by both Emilee telling me that i should actually have fantasy clothes for my fantasy series, and probably a little to do with WW2 since we're going over it in "Realisms". The jackets are made from wool and leather from some sort of cattle-like creature that roams Rayllom. They are tight around the middle and band-knit so that they don't flare up while at high altitudes and belted at the bottom to double ensure this protection. Since Riders have to use their legs to maneuver themselves and require a lot of flexibility and strength to hold onto the backs of their dragons, their leggings are made with spandex and are very stretchy. Gloves and boots made of leather are also a necessity for grip and protection from the sun, wind and other kinds of burns. Rogue squadrons and ones not associated with Sanrixes are more liberal with their clothing, since official riding clothing is generally only purchasable in the Sanrixes themselves. Colors of these clothes can sometimes determine the status of a squadron or a rider. Bright colors, like pirate flags used to be, mean get the hell away. (10/18)

This pretty much sums it up. Drawn by the lovely and awesomely talented Emilee during studio.

That dude up there? Yeah, that's Sargon. He's the main dude in in the plot of Forbidden. He was born during the time of the Seven Sanrixes, to the king of Rayllom Sabbar. He was the last child of 7 and born under the sign of darkness. He is purebred Zaire, though very few know who is mother is.When he was growing up the assumption was made that his mother was Amelie, Sabbar's true wife and the mother of his oldest son, Garth. Amelie was never kind to him, and most of Sargon's time spent at the Sanrix in his younger years was spent hiding his true appearance (wearing blue contacts to cover mysterious yellow eyes and chopping his jet black hair short). He was also treated more like the son of a common rider than the son of the king. His feral is known as the ShadowWalker and is one of the two most powerful that have ever existed on Rayllom. It caused him trouble in his younger years before he was found and often plagued his dreams. Rumor and speculation made in years after the events that occurred which ended the Reign of Garth have tied Sargon's feral to ancient Gods and myths though he will not comment on any of these accusations. During his life at the Sanrix he and Garth were very close, almost as close as Aero and Nero, Sabbar's twin sons. Little is known abut what caused Garth to exile Sargon after the death of Sabbar, but some wonder if it had to do with the exact details of Sabbar's death. Even littler however, is known about where and what Sargon did during this 15 years of exile. After his return and the events involving the end of Garth's reign he is now the current Sanrixian of Sanrix Azon, which he commissioned to be rebuilt. He is now a figurehead and treated with the same respect and awe of his father though he wishes not to be, and has passed the "rule" of the world over to the Magistrate. Still however a sadness can be seen in those mysterious yellow eyes which makes one wonder just exactly what haunts the Sanrixian's memory.

Bonus Sargon and Ryu by Emilee.
